Reading Requirements

Students will be required to read books from various genres that have been discussed in class. Each student has a required reading goal of 40 books this school year. Students will be required to complete weekly reading response entries in their Reading Notebook. They will have designated reading time at the beginning of class to help complete their goal. The students will end up reading a lot more than they think is possible.

Chapter books and short stories will be read and studied in class to help students understand story elements, figurative language, poetic language, and literacy techniques.
