Kindergarten Homework Guidelines

               Each day, please look over your child's work that is sent home in the BEACH book and initial the daily behavior calendar as well as the weekly newsletter.  Please help reinforce skills by practicing at home and providing encouragement.  Occasional assignments may be sent home to complete with parents.

               Beginning the second or third week of kindergarten, we will have weekly homework.  All homework sheets will be placed in the "Homework" Pocket of their BEACH book. When your child returns their completed homework sheets to school, it is their responsibility to take it out of their BEACH book and turn it in to their teacher. Homework must be returned in the morning on the day it is due to be counted as on time.

  

               Spelling words and Homework begins in January. The spelling words will usually be taken from our list of high frequency words we have learned for reading. Homework will be to write each word three times neatly and is due the next day after homework is sent home. We will have a practice test and if they spell all of the words correctly they are finished for the week! If they do not spell all of the words correctly, they will have another chance to spell the missed words on the final test.
