I am so grateful that you have volunteered to help in the classroom this year! It is a wonderful opportunity for you to see your child interact with his/her peers in the school setting. We need lots of parent volunteers for a variety of activities, such as reading on your child's birthday, parent art once a month, coming in when your child is Star of the Week, participating in our planned parties (Christmas and Halloween), participating in field day (May), helping out in the clinic/library/office, and a multitude of other activities during the year. To ensure the safety of all our students, EVERYONE (moms, dads, relatives, friends, etc.) who wish to volunteer in the classroom or school in anyway must have the required and current DIOCESAN PROFILE FORM completed and on file in the school office two weeks before the date of the activity. These forms cannot be given to the office the day you intend on coming into the school. If you have not completed a form and wish to do so, they are available in the school office. In fairness to the students, it is school policy that younger siblings not accompany you on these visits. This will help to minimize disruptions to other classes and to ensure that your child receives this special time with mom and/or dad. I thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. If you have not yet filled out a profile form and would like to do so, please let me know, and I will send one home to you!

                           

Letter of the Week Snack

             Every week we emphasize a different letter of the alphabet (except for short, three day weeks).  To enhance our learning, we have a letter of the week snack on Wednesdays.  The letters are not introduced in order, but rather more common letters are introduced first. Below are the letters and the volunteer for each letter (based on the sign up sheet at orientation).  If you need suggestions for a letter, please let me know and I will be happy to help you think of food items.  Please remember that all foods must be tree nut free and would be helpful to also be peanut free.  Please send in the packaging with the ingredients listed so that I may be sure of food allergies.  Please keep in mind that the snack should be sent in the morning with your son or daughter, but will be shared in the afternoon and refrigeration is not available. Classroom Art Volunteers

             Once a month, parents may sign up to volunteer to lead an art project with the class.  Parent Art time is on the designated Friday from 11:45-12:15.  You do not have to be artistic to share this time with us, children of this age love to play around with different supplies and to be creative.  If you need ideas, I am more than happy to help.   We plan to have parent art on the following dates, please let me know if you would be willing to come in and share this time with us.  If you would like to assist the parent signed up for art, feel free to let them and me know and come on in!
