Message from Mrs. Hart:
Next week we will begin kindergarten screening for incoming kindergarten students (new to the school) for the 2012-2013 school year. Screening for incoming Pre-Kindergarten students and students interested in upper grades will take place the following week. If you know of anyone who is interested in having their child/ren attend the Academy next school year, please ask them to contact Rosemary Neely in the school office. If they missed one of our open houses, Mrs. Neely can set up an appointment for them to come and tour the school. We will be scheduling another open house soon, and that information will be posted in our weekly folder and on our website.
Parents, I want to thank you once more for your continued support of HRA. We understand that sending your children to a parochial, private school involves a financial sacrifice. We believe it to be a sacrifice that will reap many rewards for years to come. Besides our focus on Honor, Responsibility and Achievement (our school motto), we want to help our students be the best they can be: To shine not only academically, but in arts or sports, or in their service to school, church and community. The Christian environment is integrated throughout our school. This is more than simply providing a “shelter” for them. It provides a lasting support and an opportunity to grow in faith.
Last Thursday, we held the awards ceremonies for the first semester. It was nice to see so many of you that morning. These assemblies give us an opportunity to recognize our students’ accomplishments and allow them to shine for their efforts and talents. Again this year, several of our students were awarded and celebrated in the community as writers of essays, prose, stories and poetry by the Stones River Women’s Club. Additionally, we had students receive honors for math scores, for all-A and A/B honor rolls, for 100% homework, citizenship and for sports. We are very proud of all our students and their accomplishments.
Have a wonderful weekend, and God bless you. Mary Hart
