Message from Mrs. Hart:
The school year has sped by and now we have only one
more week to go. This is the last family folder communication for
this year.
By the time you read this, we will have said our goodbyes
to our eighth graders. Graduation was Friday evening. We were
honored to have Representative Ben West Jr. present awards, from
the Tennessee House Of Representatives, to our graduates. This is
Representative Ben West's last year to present awards. He is retiring
after over 30 years as our representative. Likewise, Mr. Larry Keeton, businessman
and esteemed community leader, was on hand to also present awards. Our eighth
graders have done well. We will always count them as “ours” and take pride in their
accomplishments as they move on through high school and beyond. We love them
and we will miss them but know they will succeed wherever they go and whatever
they do.
Congratulations to the following 7th graders who have qualified for State level
recognition based on their performance on the ACT test: Zach Abdo, Christina Boyd,
Hailey Lavender, and Anna Reding. These students were invited to a special
recognition awards ceremony given at Vanderbilt University on Sunday, May 22nd.
Although the students who participated in the 4th/5th grade TIP program are not
normally recognized at the awards ceremony, we do have one student whose outstanding
scores garnered him a place at the Recognition ceremony at Vanderbilt
University on 5/22. Jordan Wirth (now in the 6th grade) scored in the 99th percentile
on the ACT/EXPLORE test (a test normally reserved for 7th/8th graders). Jordan will
receive special recognition at that ceremony.
We are proud of all our students. We are grateful for the support and cooperation
of our parents throughout the year. We would also like to take this opportunity
to thank all of our many volunteers for your time and dedication to HRA. You are all
so very appreciated!!
On behalf of the Faculty and Staff, we wish you a happy and safe summer.
Enjoy your time with your children. Pray together, have fun together.
God Bless you. Mary Hart
