Procedures

The children come into the classroom each morning at 7:30am.  They unpack and begin morning work.  At 7:45, the bell rings.  We stand, say prayer and pledge and then begin our day.  We move through our day according to our schedule.  At 2:00 the children write in their agenda and have center time. At 2:40 the bell rings signaling that it is time for SSR.  At 3pm happy children go home!!

Rules

Our classroom rules are simple

1.  Follow directions

2.  Use your inside voice

3.  Keep hands and feet to yourself

4   Be kind to others

Consequences

I use positive reinforcement in my classroom.  I dont have a lot of discipline problems.  On the occassion that a consequence is needed for behavior, I first give a verbal warning.  If the behavior continues, then I will ask the child to bring me their clothes pin.  If the behavior continues, I will ask the child to put their clothes pin on the yellow face.  If the behavior still continues the child is asked to put his/her pin on red face.  The child at this point loses center time, and or recess time.  I keep a record of all behavior and record it on a behavior sheet that goes home each Friday.  If behavior is severe or concerning, I will notify the parents immediatly.
