Religion Chp. 1 (p. 2 - 6)

We will identify how loving God is and the ways he shows this to us. We identify how we are gifts of God and how we can give ourselves as gifts to others. We will identify and explain how God cares for His gifts.

 

Reading -(pp. 14 - 21)

We will read the story Ant and the Three Little Figs. We will identify the author's purpose for writing the story. We will focus on good reading strategies when reading a story.

Phonics - long e, ea, ee, oo, and consonant blends

Vocabulary - figs, quickly, finally, chance, anytime

Test on Friday

Math - Chapter 1 (p. 3 - 10)

We will identify and count groups of ten, identify tens and ones up to 99, identify place value, and read and write numbers to 100.

English/Writing -

We will write letters to our Grandparents and Special Friends. We will identify complete sentences and nouns.

 

Spelling -

Words this week are: plus, glue, blink, plot, glad, blend, plan, block, plum, blast

Test on Friday

 

Handwriting -

We will focus on legibility, size, spacing and slant of letters. We will review the letters Ll, Ii, Tt and Oo.

Science - Unit A Chp. 1(p. A2 - A17)

We will identify and compare living and nonliving organisms. We will identify what a plant needs to grow. We will observe and identify how plants are alike and different.

Experiment - We will grow sunflowers this week.

Vocabulary - living, nonliving, nutrients, seed coat, germinate, seedling, cactus

Social Studies -

We will begin this unit after Science.
